doktu rhute muuzic (formerly roy hytower) has enjoyed a full career from his late teens to this present day, a career that spans over 50 years. his first experiences were singing around mobile, alabama. in 1962 he came to chicago, replacing mighty joe young as rhythm guitarist for otis rush. often adopting a soul-slanted sound, hytower cut a handful of 45rpm singles in the 1960s and 70s for several local labels such as avin, expo, brainstorm, and jiffy. in june 2016 his tune “song of deliverance” was featured on tramp’s “peace chant- compilation. in recent years roy hytower has self-released a couple of cds, however under his new moniker, doktu rhute muuzic. “i’m in your corner” and “tip jar” were released on two different cd albums. this is the only chance to get these two wonderful tunes on vinyl. don’t miss it!

reissue of an eye for an eye by byrne & barnes: a true westcoast/aor masterpiece, produced in legendary music city muscle shoals (alabama) and originally only released on japanese label climax. in 1981, robert byrne followed up to his 1979 album, blame it on the night, by teaming-up with multi-instrumentalist brendan barnes to record this rare westcoast classic. if they never recorded any other music together, both display incredible music career and went on to produce for many famous artists such as pointer sisters, patti austin, earth wind & fire, phil collins, brian mcknight, or boyz ii men to name just a few.

pional alias miguel barros ist wohl spanien am besten gehütetes geheimnis in sachen elektronischer musik. der junge multiinstrumentalist, der auch sein eigener sänger ist, eroberte die welt aus dem stand weg mit seiner debüt-maxi. die erschien auf dem in barcelona ansässigen, von seinem freund john talabot betriebenen label hivern discs. die drei tracks der >last house on the left ep< erforschen eine house-musik, die von krautrock, moodymann, miguel aguayo, caribou oder grizzly bear beeinflusst ist. mehr als nur empfehlenswert!
